Hi! I am Marcin Kasperek,
I was born in Cracow, I lived most of my life in Spain and now I’m based in the UK!
Around 2012 I started developing my creative and visual skills, first I was introduced to photography by my grandfather, who gifted me his first camera and taught me a lot of the core principles of this art. I explored videography and film over the next couple of years, jumping between that and photography, or doing both at the same time. I was mostly self-taught after that introduction from my grandfather, and I learned a wide variety of skills; from photo retouching, video editing, basic motion graphics and effects, storytelling all the way to getting my first gigs. Filming and photographing events at my school, concerts, small ad videos for local businesses and even friends’ weddings. Although I did not have a particular direction at first I knew I wanted to pursue this as a career, and after graduating from Bachiller I moved to the UK to continue my journey.
After my first year in higher education at Kingston University in London, I realized my niche and true passion is digital Colour Correction and Grading. Since then I have been developing a strong understanding of this art, technical knowledge and skills as a professional colourist in DaVinci Resolve. Both by learning independently, in Universisty, through TAC Resolve Training with masterclasses from experts such as Walter Volpatto, Tom Poole, Cullen Kelley, Brian Singler and Dr. Mitch J. Bogdanowicz and his daughter Jill Bogdanowicz. I also took part in Cullen Kelly’s Coaching programme and I’m currently a DaVinci Resolve Certified Trainer.
Throughout my career I hope to achieve a skillset and knowledge which will allow me to create films where I can express my emotions, convey a message and most importantly, stay true to myself, all while helping fellow filmmakers reach their vision and bring their projects to life, give them a soul and sculpt their face through light and colour. I have big expectations for the future and I wil take on any opportunity that could get me closer to my goals.
I am also currently working on Proyecto Kr, a Spain-based cinematographic and video-production project which aims to give young people an opportunity in the audiovisual world through independent productions, some of our short-films have classified and recognised in international film festivals, which we are extremely happy about.
